Biography

Chris has always been in love with filmscores! At age 16 he won a state title in composition, attracting various independent filmmakers in the pacific Northwest. Chris was quickly landing his first theatrical, ballet, and film music jobs.

He attended the University of Oregon (B. Mus. in Music Composition and B. A. in Political Science) and became involved with the Pacific Rim Balinese Gamelan and Chinese Opera. Out of school, Chris was an instructor of composition and cello, and worked as an adolescent treatment counselor.

Chris left his beloved Northwest for the prestigious Scoring For Motion Pictures and Television program at University of Southern California's graduate school. There he studied with Chris Young, Pete Anthony, John Frizzell, Jon Erlich, Freddie Wiedmann, Kenneth Hall, Jorl McNeely, Richard Kraft, Chris Brooks, Jack Smalley, and Eric Schmidt. During school, he even orchestrated and conducted (though uncredited) on ABC's hit show LOST.

Only three months after graduation, Chris was a music editor on Sony Picture's Dragon Wars which became the highest -selling film in Korean history, orchestrated the first feature film from the nation of Jordan (World Cinema Award Winner at 2007 Sundance Film Festival), and became the youngest nominee for Best Orchestrator in the 2007 Academy of Film and TV Music awards in Hollywood.

Chris is currently composing and orchestrating feature film scores at his Culver City studio.
